What exactly is the keto diet?

According to Wikipedia

“The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, adequate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used mainly to treat hard-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.” – Wikipedia

This is a high fat, low carb diet. This diet helps blood sugar levels, weight loss, and much more.

Nothing is harder than starting or being on a diet and thinking of the delicious not so healthy foods. Just because you are restricted almost makes you want these things more. It’s easy to have some of these things on the keto diet. You need to break down what’s bad. Like this delicious burger, we had to eliminate the bun! As much as that may stink, at least we are still eating burgers!

Ingredients

1lb Ground beef

3 Cloves garlic

2 Tsp Paprika Cracked pepper

1 Egg

1 Cup Arugula

2 Slices Tomato

1 Pickle

4 Tbsp Peanut butter

2 Tbsp Olive oil

DIRECTIONS:

1. In a large bowl, mix the ground beef, egg, paprika, salt and pepper.

2. Form 4 even patties.

3. Fry in olive oil until browned.

4. Layer the ‘burger’ starting with the patties as buns then top with salad, pickle, tomato and peanut butter.

5. Wrap in paper and serve.
